Happy 4th of July 2011

Happy July 4th..

I love the 4th of July. It's all sparkly with red, white, and blue everything. It shimmers and sparkles just like those fireworks we all love. My heart beats all day with well loved songs of freedom.
I look for flags. The unexpected ones, the ones neighbors fly. The ones that will decorate bikes, and motorcycles and even semi-trucks.

I love the picnics and parties, the Lemonade and messy hotdogs. The laughter of kids as they play in the sprinkler or giggle about the ice cream that dribbles down their chins. I love the fireworks. They are such a wonderful end to such an American day.

I wish you a wonderful 4th.. I hope you let ice cream dribble down your chin.
I hope you sing a line or two of a favorite American Freedom song.
I hope you see a flag and remember with love the Country we are so privileged to live in.
I hope you remember those who fought for our freedom, and those who fight now to preserve it.

I hope your eyes get a little wet, your heart sings over special moments and memories.

I particularly love this song. You may not have heard it, but it is so appropriate for the 4th of July weekend.

There She Stands
Written by: Michael W. Smith, and Wes King…

When the night
Seems to say
All is lost
Gone away
But I know
I’m not alone
By the light
She stands

There she waves
Faithful friend
Shimmering stars
Westward wind
Show the way
Carry me
To the place
She stands

Just when you think it might be over
Just when you think the fight is gone
Someone will risk his life to raise her
There she stands

There she flies
Clear blue sky
Reminds us with red
Of those that died
Washed in white
By the brave
In their strength
She stands

When evil calls itself a martyr
When all your hopes come crashing down
Someone will pull her from the rubble
There she stands

We’ve seen her flying torn and tattered
We’ve seen her stand the test of time
And through it all the fools have fallen
There she stands

By the dawns
Early light
And through the fight
She stands
